Picking Peonies

Wandered down to the Sunday Farmer's Market with the fam and Lady today! We had so much fun and my mom and I picked out the most beautiful bouquet of peonies for the front entry at home. The gardens were in full bloom and BEAUTIFUL. Trying yummy market food for lunch and lounging around on the benches in the park for the afternoon with some of my favorite people definitely counts as a good day in my book. :)

Neighborhood Walks

I love taking Lady on long walks through our So Cal neighborhood; but there's just something about walking through my parents' neighborhood that is beautiful in such a different way. I grew up here, I know these streets, which makes me nostalgic and want to hold onto it for that much longer. I like to think about how Bear and I would jog here and how hard he'd pull on his leash until we were both too exhausted to keep up that fast pace and how he'd sniff everything and raise his eyebrows at anything he deemed "suspect". Walking Lady on these same streets makes me think that no matter how much happens in life and everything going forward, we CAN always look back and feel renewed again. Each time I come home my mom talks about moving, getting a smaller place and how "someday you'll all be grown and gone and we'll have no need for our big house". It's sad to think that someday I'll "come home" to a new house, but home is where your heart is. :)

The girls joined Lady and I on our walk this morning and I'm confident a good time was had by all! These 3 don't always get along, but I'm convinced there's some cousin-love in there somewhere!

A Sunny Sunday

Today was absolutely beautiful! The hubs and I both got much needed haircuts and ran a few errands we've been putting off. We finally settled on some frames for the artwork in our room and I am so excited to get the finishing touches in place. We're hoping to have all of the pieces for our new bedroom soon and I can't wait to see everything all put together!

I took advantage of a of few Memorial Day weekend sales and these pants are a new favorite! I absolutely love the subtle stripe detail and the fit and feel of the material is so soft! These Anthro jeans will definitely be on regular rotation this summer. :)

Prepare for Takeoff!

The hubs is heading to Texas for work, so Lady and I planned a little home-cation to Washington while he's gone. One positive thing about having time off of work is that it leaves room for impromptu trips and extra time to slow down and catch up on the little things. For this trip, we finally got Lady a new and improved carrier! She's all set for our trip and I can't wait to be home!

Those eyes though!! I can't even!

Batman, Malls and Growing Up

I'm not sure when it happened exactly, but my friends have officially crossed the threshold of getting pregnant accidentally...to purposefully! Haha. In the last few weeks I've had 2 of my dearest girlfriends excitedly announce their pregnancies and I couldn't be more thrilled for them! Since my change in employment status I've been "encouraged" by many that I'm at the perfect age and should just "go ahead and jump on that bandwagon". Good thing I fully believe that a baby isn't something to do because you're bored. Maybe someday, but for now the hubs and I are quite happy with the furry ones. :)

Spending the day with two of my favorite people at the mall was a wonderful pass-time. The trip out of the house was much welcomed and a great break in my weekly chores routine! We had lunch, did some shopping, made silly faces, colored pictures and ended up chatting and watching this little guy have a ball in the play area. When did "playing" for us become talking and catching up? I'm not exactly sure, but I'm also not complaining!

A Disney Birthday

To celebrate a roomie's birthday, we got a group together and headed to the Happiest Place on Earth (of course!). Living right down the street is seriously the greatest! We had so much fun and even got to see the infamous "Hat Box Ghost" in the Haunted Mansion. The effect really is amazing!

Friends and Weddings

My husband is truly blessed with some amazing friends. Most have known each other since elementary school. Although they don't see each other often, it is still wonderful to see them all come together to celebrate and support one another. Yesterday we went to a beautiful wedding to witness the joining of two wonderful friends. I, of course, didn't think to pull out my camera earlier in the evening, but the wedding was absolutely beautiful. These pictures are a bit blurry, but when you can't get everyone to hold still at the same time it only serves as further evidence of how much fun was had. ;)

A New Day, A New Opportunity

It's been a while since my last post and, unfortunately, it's been a slightly troublesome time. Keeping my chin up with the help of the hubs and my furry cuddle-buddies! An unexpected change has left me with plenty of time to work on home projects that have LONG been put on hold. Finally having a chance to finish up the bedroom and refinishing the furniture has been keeping me busy; but it's also nice to take some time to enjoy brunch with one of my lovely roomies! Lady joined us for an outing on this beautiful day and was particularly well-behaved, which (obviously) needed to be documented. :)

After brunch, we walked through downtown Orange. The streets there are right up my alley and full of antique shops, quaint food selections and trendy boutiques. Almost every business had bowls of water out for passing pups and Lady took full advantage of the opportunity to slurp up some tasty water from each and every bowl. :) It was a wonderful walk and a great break from our usual morning walk routine.
