Clean Puppy

We went to the beach this morning, which Lady LOVES, although it's the "after beach time" that she is not particularly fond of. Bath time has always been a traumatizing event for her as she's not too fond of water. Then, because I just HAVE to make matters worse....I BRUSH her. You'd think I was killing her sweet little soul by the size of the puppy-dog eyes she gives me. *Sigh*

After all is said and done, she's very sad and typically just wants to take a nap. I just wonder what she dreams of.

Beach Days!

A "pro" of unemployment: unlimited beach days! The roomie and I decided to take Lady to the dog beach this morning and, oh boy, did we have fun! Lady was ALL ABOUT the ocean! She kept following us into the water in the beginning, but then when we went back to the water later she wanted nothing to do with it, haha.

We had the best day together and I can't wait for the many more that are sure to follow. :)

Off-Roading with Sam!

I had the best weekend! At the last minute, Sam invited Lady and I to go with her to her aunt and uncle's house up near Yosemite and we were able to go! The hubs went camping with his fam so a great time was had by all! This was my first experience with off-roading and Sam wanted to take her new jeep up the mountains. It was her first time driving and we had a great time! Her family was so warm and welcoming and Lady met a new friend, Stevie!

The Camp

We're back in sunny SoCal! The time at home was wonderful but I'm glad to be back with the hubs and on to job hunting. :) At the last minute, Lady and I got invited to go to The Camp with some of the Lambrechts and we had a blast! It was great to get to walk around all of the shops and try some of the delicious foods. We had lunch at a delicious lunch at the Wine Lab and OMG their sandwiches!! The food was AMAZING and they even had the cutest all-natural doggy treats for Lady! The server was so sweet and just couldn't get enough of her so, needless to say, she got WAY more treats than she needed. ;)

Picking Peonies

Wandered down to the Sunday Farmer's Market with the fam and Lady today! We had so much fun and my mom and I picked out the most beautiful bouquet of peonies for the front entry at home. The gardens were in full bloom and BEAUTIFUL. Trying yummy market food for lunch and lounging around on the benches in the park for the afternoon with some of my favorite people definitely counts as a good day in my book. :)

Neighborhood Walks

I love taking Lady on long walks through our So Cal neighborhood; but there's just something about walking through my parents' neighborhood that is beautiful in such a different way. I grew up here, I know these streets, which makes me nostalgic and want to hold onto it for that much longer. I like to think about how Bear and I would jog here and how hard he'd pull on his leash until we were both too exhausted to keep up that fast pace and how he'd sniff everything and raise his eyebrows at anything he deemed "suspect". Walking Lady on these same streets makes me think that no matter how much happens in life and everything going forward, we CAN always look back and feel renewed again. Each time I come home my mom talks about moving, getting a smaller place and how "someday you'll all be grown and gone and we'll have no need for our big house". It's sad to think that someday I'll "come home" to a new house, but home is where your heart is. :)

The girls joined Lady and I on our walk this morning and I'm confident a good time was had by all! These 3 don't always get along, but I'm convinced there's some cousin-love in there somewhere!

A Sunny Sunday

Today was absolutely beautiful! The hubs and I both got much needed haircuts and ran a few errands we've been putting off. We finally settled on some frames for the artwork in our room and I am so excited to get the finishing touches in place. We're hoping to have all of the pieces for our new bedroom soon and I can't wait to see everything all put together!

I took advantage of a of few Memorial Day weekend sales and these pants are a new favorite! I absolutely love the subtle stripe detail and the fit and feel of the material is so soft! These Anthro jeans will definitely be on regular rotation this summer. :)
